Objectives of the Course:

This is a training on how missions, offices and organizations can be run more efficiently
by updating the basic skills of workers and employees.

  • Enhance the current skills of office workers in a professional environment.
  • Update the technical knowledge of secretaries using the computer and technology to make the work more efficient and effective.
  • Professionalize the profession of being a secretary or office assistant by teaching them methods on how to conduct themselves in meetings with superiors and daily work within the office space.
  • Upgrade the letter writing and phone communication skills of participants.
  • Show participants the best practices for office behaviour, application of technical skills and allow them to integrate the learning into their current workspaces.

Course Outline

  1. Workspaces in the Philippines – This is a review of the workspaces in the Philippines, the ideal situations, the acceptable situations and the unacceptable situations based on laws and general practices.
  2. Men and Women together – General rules and advice on how to treat both genders in the workforce, managing personal matters, how to manage issues and how to prevent issues in the future.
  3. The Smart Manager – Inspiring and motivating individuals in the workplace, establishing the company culture and managing support staff.
  4. Meeting Management – This training includes efficient ways to managing meetings, setting timelines, the agenda, following up next items and tips to ensure that teams understand the purpose of the meetings.
  5. Efficient Writing – A comprehensive training on writing business letters, formal invitations, casual letters, correspondences. This includes how to use technology to complement the work – using MS Word and MS Excel, mail merge, printing labels, stickers and address on envelopes.
  6. Telephone and Mobile Manners – This training is meant to remind staff and the workforce on how to answer the phones, communicating through the mobile. This includes how to translate, transfer and relay messages. The training also gives information on the most efficient ways to communicate using the telephone, texting and mobile manners.
  7. Electronic Communication – A guide on how to ensure that the message is delivered clearly through electronic means – email, websites, social networks and other online forms of communication. This training also includes how to use technology – emails, formatting and the recommended software to make tasks easier.
