Objectives of the Course:

To know the role, duties and responsibility of coating inspectors from a makers, applicators, specifiers and owners perspective.

Understand principle of basic corrosion, determine suitable surface preparation standard, application procedure and technique, basic field inspection requirement and documentation to satisy owner and contractual obligation.

Objective is to deliver Marine and Protective Coating Projects that will suit each of the required exposure, maximize productivity, and increase effectivity of the coating system to minimize or avoid premature failure that will affect the service life of structure or any given assets “.

Engr. Raymund Joseph P. Toledo

Engr. Raymund Joseph P. Toledo was a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) from Mapua Institute of Technology and a Registered Mechanical Engineer ID No.: 0057140, NACE Coating Inspector Level 3 – certified CIP ID No.; 19827 and FROSIO Certified Inspector Level lll ID no.:2530.

He is currently working with PPG Coatings Phils., Inc as a Project Manager for Protective Coatings for Philippines/Vietnam/ANZ.

He served as Country Manager and over-all in charge of Sigma Kalon Philippines business operation, and overseeing the country performance.

Served as Field Technical Services Manager and Field Technical Services Department for Sigma Coatings (Phils.) Inc. In-control of Technical Department activity, responsible for checking & approval of painting specification both in Marine & Protective Coatings, responsible for supervision & scheduling of Field Engineer’s activity domestic & overseas, directly report to the Country Manager, to the regional Technical Director and FTS Central Office.

He has worked as Department Head – Field Technical Services for Matamarine Technical Service, Inc.. As a Technical Engineer for dry-docking, new building, tank coating and maintenance for marine and protective as a coating advisor and ensuring necessary documents were duly signed and accepted. Responsible in monitoring inspectors activity/movements, performance and relationship on site for project status and development, Ensured and safeguarded the company’s reputation that specification were followed as per given standard. Conducted onboard inspection, annual survey, make recommendation and technical evaluation for comments, repair, maintenance and upgrading of existing paint system as per owners requirement. Responsible for checking and monitoring technical report of accomplished projects and submission to owner’s technical department., Coordinated with vessel’s Superintendent and Field Engineers regarding job description, work accomplishment and progress of projects handled. Set-up projects (Marine & PC) discussing with owner, vessel’s superintendent, shipyard, contractor, etc..

Worked as a Technical Engineer for Phil-Nippon Kyoei Corporation and conducted inspection of Marine and land-based Power Plants, making proposals and recommendation regarding operation and maintenance as a third party. Prepared in-house Power Plant Design, layout and specification for turn key projects and coordinated with Plant Engineers regarding maintenance schedule, requirements and specification for repair and supply.

He has taught Physics and Mathematics Teacher and Trigonometry subject for 4th year secondary students, Handles Algebra subject of 3rd year secondary students, Conducts tutorial and Mathematics review for students taking NSAT in preparation for College education.
